Beach Project

It seems appropriate for the weather we are having to start dreaming about warmth and sun. So I will be starting to pull design elements for a new project at the beach, which calls for retro modern details, lots of texture and lots of casual spots for kids to relax. First up is to create the white kitchen, based on this lovely concept. I LOVE the woven shades, the color commitment, and the simplicity of the cabinets.

Powder Room Project

I love powder rooms. Mostly because clients will typically take some chances with me designing them as they are small and not a huge commitment. For a recent job, the client requested BLACK. I really loved this idea-dramatic, statement making, and practical. Check back for the finished result. We definitely glammed up the look here (opted for crystal sconces, wallpaper vs straight paint, marble mosaic floor vs stained planks) but this was our inspiration.

bye bye beach...

As we close out the summer, I have to share a near and dear, post Sandy project that (fingers crossed) will grace the "Poolhouse" issue of a favorite shelter mag next summer.  The superstorm may have leveled the precious house but it did not dampen the client's desire for bold, fun, unapologetic color everywhere. Stay tuned for publication updates!!

May has come and gone and I am in the process of unwinding my vestibule space. I am so grateful for the opportunity and the check off the bucket list. Thanks to all of those who helped make "space 40" come to life.
